18-Wheel Truck Rams Motorcycles, Kills Teen Girl in Chonburi
An 18‑wheel truck lost its brakes on Sukhumvit Road in Bang Lamung, Chonburi, and crashed into three motorcycles waiting for an ambulance. The collision killed a 15‑year‑old girl and seriously injured two other riders. Police are investigating the cause and have taken the truck driver in for questioning.
Chonburi – The horrific crash occurred on 12 October 2026 at kilometer marker 134 on the inbound lane of Sukhumvit Road, opposite the Bang Lamung Boys' Home. An 18‑wheel trailer carrying a container, registered in Chiang Mai, skidded off the road after its brakes failed, crushing the girl beneath its wheels. Three motorcycles were badly damaged, and two injured men — 20‑year‑old Pacharapon Paosuk and 35‑year‑old Anon Ngamjirachai — were rushed to Pattaya Patumthon Hospital in critical condition. Witness Max, who had been parked nearby, said he saw two motorcyclists slow down to let an ambulance with flashing lights make a U‑turn when the out‑of‑control truck plowed into them, also striking his own bike. Police Lieutenant Colonel Chanda Deempun of Pattaya City Police took statements from witnesses, summoned the truck driver for further questioning, and ordered a review of nearby CCTV footage to determine the cause of the accident.
