Army Helicopter Airlifts Heart Attack Patient in 40-Minute Flight
Royal Thai Army helicopter airlifted a 67-year-old heart attack patient from Fang to Chiang Mai's Nakornping Hospital in 40 minutes, cutting a three-hour road journey.
For the people! The Royal Thai Army dispatches an HT.212 helicopter to launch a Sky Doctor mission, urgently airlifting a 67-year-old man suffering a heart attack from Fang to Nakornping Hospital in Chiang Mai — a 40-minute flight compared to three hours by road.
Army Area 3, together with the Army Aviation Center, deployed one HT.212 military helicopter to support the emergency air patient transfer mission (Sky Doctor) by the Army Aviation Battalion, Fort Suranari, assisting the National Institute for Emergency Medicine in transporting a critical patient for urgent treatment.
The mission supported a Sky Doctor medical team from Nakornping Hospital, Chiang Mai Province, to retrieve a 67-year-old male patient suffering from acute myocardial infarction from Fang Hospital, Chiang Mai Province, for further treatment at Nakornping Hospital. After the medical team assessed the patient and requested aircraft support from the Royal Thai Army for the return air medical evacuation, the helicopter transport took approximately 40 minutes, while ground transport would have required about three hours — significantly reducing transfer time and expediting the patient's entry into the treatment system.
The patient is now safe. This operation demonstrates the integration of Royal Thai Army aviation capabilities with emergency medical teams to support the emergency medical system, assist the public in crisis situations, and increase opportunities for immediate access to treatment.
