26 Senators Face Election Charges Attend Parliament Session
Twenty-six senators facing election fraud charges appeared in parliament on September 15, with colleagues offering support as the Electoral Commission refers cases to the Supreme Court's Election Division.
At 9 a.m. on September 15 at Parliament, the Senate convened under the chair of Mongkol Surasatchaya, Senate President. During pre-meeting discussions, Senator Ajcharaporn Homsop, representing women senators from Surat Thani province, raised the matter of caring for people with drug addiction and those suffering psychiatric conditions resulting from substance use. She is one of 26 senators facing election fraud charges that the Electoral Commission has referred to the Supreme Court's Election Division. Several other senators named in the case also attended the regular session, including Nipond Ekwanich, Sutheep Sangwitset, Police Colonel Sanga Songmahajai, Nonglak Gankhiao, Somsak Chankaew, and Sommai Srijchan. During the session, some senators approached Ajcharaporn to offer her words of encouragement and support.
