Thailand's women's volleyball team made history by winning the 2026 Asian Volleyball Championship and earning qualification for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul officially received the team at Government House, where he presented the government's prize package of 14.76 million baht, personally processing the transfer as team members watched 600,000 baht immediately deposit into their accounts. After receiving a signed volleyball from captain Chompoo, the Premier engaged in a lighthearted volleyball exchange in the Government House reception hall, joking that during the championship celebrations, no one had posted criticisms of the government online. He encouraged the players to train hard for the upcoming Los Angeles Olympics.
