Thailand Women's Volleyball Team Honors Queen After Olympic Qualification
Thailand's women's volleyball team held a ceremony honoring the Queen after securing qualification for the 2028 Olympics by winning the Asian Championship in August.
Thailand's historic women's volleyball team held a ceremony to pay respects to the Queen after winning the Asian Championship and securing a place at the 2028 Olympic Games. On September 25 at the Thao Suranari Monument in Muang district, Nakhon Ratchasima province, Governor Anupong Sukhsamit presided over a tribute ceremony attended by Thai Volleyball Association President Somporn Chuibangyang, current and former national team players including the celebrated "Seven Sages," and athletes from local club teams including Nakhon Ratchasima 3M Film VC and PEA club. The team made history by winning the 2026 Asian Championship in late August, which secured their qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games.
The province is also preparing to host the Select Women's Volleyball Championship 2025, competing for the Royal Cup bestowed by Princess Sirivannavari Narirubol, from September 25-30 on the fourth floor of Terminal 21 Korat shopping mall in Nakhon Ratchasima. Eight domestic club teams will compete in the tournament, with most players from the historic national team competing under the name of PEA club.
