Actress Stands Firm on Doing What's Right in Case

Actress Kwan Usamanee says she is not particularly brave but is glad to have chosen to do the right thing, accepting her own concerns while screening unknown callers and blocking harassment. Her decision to testify for Melon Nida's mother against her former personal manager and friend Kratip on charges of submitting false evidence to Nonthaburi Police has prompted public concern for her safety. Kwan posted photos and messages from the incident as self-protection and recently appeared at the Y Entertain Awards 2026 ceremony at ICONSIAM Hall, where she gave an interview about the matter. When asked about safety concerns, Kwan said: "I am worried about myself as well, but there's not much I can do except know what is right and wrong. What I am doing now, I know it is the right thing. My parents raised me this way. We grew up in a police apartment, around the Crime Suppression Division, seeing everyone doing things for justice. But for my safety, I ask all the adults to uphold justice and protect everyone. I am not brave or strong. We survive through faith and encouragement. If my faith and courage disappear, I will struggle." Regarding mysterious phone calls, she said she receives many calls but does not answer unknown numbers, instead referring work inquiries and reviews through her mother's line. On living in caution, Kwan stated: "I am not suspicious but I am careful. I am glad we chose to do what is right and stay within the framework our parents raised us in. Even as society changes, my heart should not. I have uncles, mentors, older siblings and police officers who love and care for me because of the good my father did for them. My father was a low-ranking officer, a sword master, but everyone loved him and extended that love to me. Not because I am Kwan Usamanee, but because I am his child." When praised for her courage, Kwan clarified: "I do what is right. I am not brave; I speak the truth. I act within my role and responsibility. I will do everything to the best of my ability if the legal process requires it." Regarding hopes for the case, she expressed that the world should hope for justice in Melon's case, noting that no one is born in an accident, and that she wants justice restored for those wronged, including Melon. She also commented on skepticism about the circumstances, saying that when a simulation was conducted at the river, everyone saw that standing at the boat's stern was already difficult without doing anything else. She challenged doubters to try standing at the stern themselves without urinating and see if they can maintain balance, adding that the documentation from Professor Pantheab's working group, investigators, and prosecutors should provide answers that everyone can accept.
