AIS Academy continues its "Think Ahead Mission" by partnering with NIA and educational sector allies to invite students across Thailand to reshape the future of Thai education in the AI era through JUMP THAILAND HACKATHON 2026.

AIS Academy is advancing its "Think Ahead Mission" vision by opening applications nationwide for JUMP THAILAND HACKATHON 2026, continuing into its fourth consecutive year under the theme "AI for the Future of Thai Education." The initiative invites young innovators to compete in developing solutions that elevate Thai education, expand learning access, strengthen student and educator capabilities, and create new learning models for the future. Total prize money exceeds 220,000 baht. This year's program partners with the National Innovation Agency (NIA), along with collaboration from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and the Ministry of Education. Applications are open from today through August 15, 2025.

This year's JUMP THAILAND HACKATHON 2026 operates under the concept "AI for the Future of Thai Education: Artificial Intelligence Technology for Thailand's Educational Future." The program creates space for university and college students nationwide to learn the innovation development process—from problem understanding and concept design to solution development and presentation before judges. AIS experts and mentors, partnering with education and industry sectors, will provide guidance to help ideas translate into practical applications.

Promeshwar Phummuljrang, Head of Innovation Driving Department at AIS, noted: "Over the years, JUMP THAILAND HACKATHON has demonstrated Thai students' capacity to apply technology toward developing innovative solutions addressing societal needs. This year, we've expanded the competition process to reach young people nationwide more broadly through Bootcamps in four regions: Southern Thailand at Prince of Songkla University's Hat Yai campus, Northern Thailand at Chiang Mai University, Northeastern Thailand at Khon Kaen University, and Central Thailand at Chulalongkorn University, before selecting 10 finalists."

Deputy Interior Minister Jetserath Thaiserath revealed progress on July 6, 2025, regarding the religious tour and travel package scam that has harmed hundreds of citizens. He coordinated with governors of Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat provinces to expedite victim data collection and evidence gathering. The government has instructed tour company investigations and legal prosecution of all responsible parties while aggressively pursuing asset recovery to restore justice to victims.

Thaiserath reported that over 500 victims have already filed complaints, with more expected to come forward. The Interior Ministry is coordinating nationwide to accept reports and assist citizens fully, ensuring comprehensive evidence collection for efficient prosecution. The ministry is collaborating with the Consumer Protection Board, Department of Business Development, Tourism Authority, Justice Center, and Ministry of Digital Economy and Society to investigate facts, extend inquiries to all involved parties, and track suspect assets to maximize fund recovery for victims.

Thaiserath emphasized his close monitoring of the case and commitment to prosecuting offenders to the fullest extent while rapidly recovering assets and refunding victims. The government prioritizes citizen protection and will integrate all relevant agencies to ensure swift justice. He assured the public that authorities will not let wrongdoers escape and will pursue all legal avenues to fully protect citizens' rights.

Theerupong Khamsuri, or "Thee," lead singer of Only Monday, issued another public statement via personal Facebook following the release of a leaked intimate video involving his ex-girlfriend, which caused significant damage to his reputation.

In his statement, Thee addressed multiple points:

1. He acknowledged he should have spoken earlier, but his ex-girlfriend "Bell" had requested he remain silent initially to avoid drawing more attention to the video. He had originally intended to handle matters quietly until they could be verified.

2. Thee spent nearly a week tracking down the person who released the video through a sting operation and initiated legal action against the video seller to trace its origins. When he contacted Bell to update her on progress and invite her to participate in the process, she declined to comment or participate, saying she was still shocked by the incident.

3. He decided to speak now because the situation had become unbearable. Everyone around him—his family, parents, bandmates, and staff—had suffered harassment and backlash from his job engagements. He left his record label to prevent others from being affected by association with him.

4. After leaving the label, he attempted to rebuild his music career independently, but admitted he desperately needs label support, as music is his only skill.

5. He has had to hide and avoid public appearances at concerts and events to prevent damaging other artists' reputations by association.

6. Thee emphatically denied releasing the video, saying he would never jeopardize his own future, his band's future, or others' lives to harm someone.

7. He acknowledged his infidelity during his relationship with Bell, which caused their breakup and for which he felt remorse. However, he argued this was not justification for destroying his life.

8. Regarding the video itself, Thee clarified they had recorded it together as a private couple's activity. After breaking up, they discussed deleting it, and he did not retain a copy. He stated he has no habit of sharing private content and expressed equal shame about the video's circulation.

9. He criticized people for judging him without evidence while the matter remains under investigation, suggesting assumptions of guilt because he is male. He claimed to be a victim as well and said he is doing everything possible to identify and prosecute the responsible party.

10. He concluded by inviting criticism to be directed at him alone.

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Interior Minister dismissed concerns about Chinese investors rapidly purchasing land in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) area to build illegal industrial parks, insisting that anyone breaking Thai law will face the full force of prosecution. Speaking at Government House on July 6, 2569, Anutin addressed the EEC supervisory framework and the government's FastPass policy for expediting approvals, emphasizing inter-agency coordination without territorial disputes and promoting investment across the entire nation, not just the EEC. When asked about private sector concerns over large-scale Chinese land acquisitions in the EEC for illegal industrial development, the Prime Minister countered that illegal parks cannot exist, as establishing industrial parks requires government approval, infrastructure systems, and numerous conditions. He noted that if land purchases involve proxy ownership anywhere in the country, the government is already taking action, citing cases in Phuket and Koh Phangan, Surat Thani, where police have investigated and revoked titles. The PM warned that Thailand has laws, and violators will face full penalties under this administration—which considers it not worthwhile to break the law. He cautioned against challenging Thai law, as violations damage public confidence and harm law-abiding citizens. The government is closely monitoring such matters and will act with utmost decisiveness.

Police arrested Nattapong (surname withheld) on July 6 for armed robbery, assault, and unlawful detention of his ex-girlfriend. Officers from Phuket's Special Branch, led by Maj. Sopathat Nayao, along with officers Pongpipatphan Khamchum and Waiywatthan Daengdee, executed the arrest warrant in connection with a robbery, death threats, and grievous bodily harm case from Ranong's Muang district.

The 34-year-old victim from Kanchanaburi reported that her ex-boyfriend used a gun and knife to rob her of 5,000 baht, then detained and forced her to drive to Southern Thailand. During the journey, he severely assaulted her. Upon reaching Ranong province, he forced her to burn her important personal documents to prevent her from escaping. The victim managed to flee when the suspect handed her the car keys and escaped to seek help from a gas station attendant in Bang Rin subdistrict, Muang Ranong, before police assisted her and transported her to hospital.

Investigation revealed the suspect fled Ranong by taking a Chumphon-Phuket bus to hide in Phuket. Phuket's Special Branch coordinated with Ranong police to track him down. On July 6 at approximately 2:00 p.m., officers received a tip about a suspect matching his description and appearance. When officers moved in to arrest him based on the warrant, the suspect resisted and repeatedly touched his waist as if reaching for a weapon. Given the victim's prior report that he regularly carried a gun, officers quickly restrained him using tactical control measures.

On July 6, 2025, Maha Sarakham Governor Chumpich Decharat chaired a meeting at the provincial hall to discuss organizing the "New Generation Northeast Festival: Liver Fluke and Bile Duct Cancer-Free" event. The meeting included Dr. Danai Wangbunchaiand Dr. Nittaya Wankij, Deputy Rector for Student Development at Maha Sarakham University, along with provincial health officials.

Sukhsorn Sirisuriyasunthorn, head of communicable disease control at the Maha Sarakham Public Health Office, reported alarming infection rates. Screening of 20,000 residents revealed an 11% infection rate. Among 12,733 newly enrolled students at Maha Sarakham University, 4,233 tested positive for liver fluke—a 33% infection rate. At Maha Sarakham Rajabhat University, 380 of 1,922 new students were infected, representing 19%.

Governor Chumpich attributed the outbreak to young people's consumption of som tam (papaya salad) containing raw fish sauce, which may harbor parasitic eggs unapproved by the Food and Drug Administration. He warned that without intervention, these students could develop bile duct cancer within 15-20 years, threatening the nation's future.

The governor ordered the health office to inspect papaya salad restaurants and food establishments using fish sauce. He announced a training program scheduled for August 3 at Maha Sarakham University to educate food business operators and students about safe food preparation and parasite prevention. Restaurants serving cooked fish sauce will receive certification labels.

"This is a serious issue we cannot ignore," Governor Chumpich stated. "With such high infection rates among screened students, we must identify the source and implement sanitary controls on fish sauce production. The health office will inspect restaurants, particularly papaya salad vendors, to promote safe practices and provide consumer awareness."

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nittaya expressed shock at the high infection rate, noting that new students should not face such risk. She called for screening of all university staff and students—approximately 50,000 people—as most are at risk due to traditional Northeastern eating habits involving raw fish sauce in papaya salad.
