Anne Book Clarifies Property Sale, Praises Gifted Son's Startup Plans
Anne Book clarified she's selling a retirement community property to help a friend in financial need, not due to personal hardship, while praising her 16-year-old son's ambitious startup plans in economics and finance.
Anne Book has clarified her announcement to sell a property, expressing pride in her 16-year-old son Teekhaya, who is launching a startup with interests in economics and finance after competing in international competitions. She emphasized that she is not protective about her son's romantic life because she raised him to be a gentleman, though he currently has no girlfriend. She also revealed that her son has told her his ideal partner should be 80% as good as his mother.
When asked why many people were surprised by the property sale, Anne Book explained: "It's nothing really. I invested in this property together with a friend, and we planned to build a small retirement community with individual plots of 50-100 square meters each where we could all live together when we retire without bothering our children. It just happened that my friend needed money urgently, so I agreed to sell it for now and rebuild later. It's a house we built together, not just mine alone."
Regarding speculation that she was facing financial problems, Anne Book responded: "People can think whatever they want, but thank you for asking. The truth is my friend needed the money urgently. I said okay, but we also need money—everyone does." She confirmed that the sale price of 2.59 million baht, down from 2.99 million baht, meant she was essentially breaking even on the investment. She added that she was not discouraged by the loss because she previously worked as a real estate agent in Nakhon Nayok and knows how to find affordable land. She said she could save up and rebuild in the future since everyone's needs are different. She also mentioned that although she announced the sale, it has not sold yet because potential buyers felt 100 square meters might be too small, even though the property actually has three bedrooms.
