Officials have cleared away floating living rafts and fish cages that became lodged at the Maeklong Dam’s drainage gates. On September 30, 2026, reporters reported progress in retrieving the numerous rafts and fish cages that had been stuck since the late night of September 29. Officers from the 13th Irrigation Office, together with the Kanchanaburi Marine Department and related agencies, used two motorboats to pull the rafts away after temporarily closing the gates to reduce water resistance. Once the rafts were removed, the gates were reopened to continue the planned discharge of up to 2,200 cubic metres per second. Authorities said they will determine how to deal with any remaining fish‑cage debris in the area.
