Bangkok Hosts First DEKA FIT World Fitness Racing Championship
Bangkok hosted the inaugural DEKA FIT World Championship at Siam Paragon, drawing 3,500 athletes from 30 nations and debuting the first national team fitness racing format.
The inaugural "2026 Bangkok DEKA FIT" wrapped up spectacularly on November 2, 2024, after two days of intense competition from October 31 to November 1 at Paragon Hall, 5th floor, Siam Paragon. More than 3,500 athletes from over 30 countries gathered for the world's first DEKA FIT event in Thailand, creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout. The competition blends a 5 km run with 10 fitness zones testing strength, speed, and endurance, challenging athletes of all levels from beginners to elites.
A major highlight was the debut of the "DEKA Team Nations Challenge," the world's first national team fitness racing format, featuring teams from India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. This elevated the event from individual tests to an international team competition linking athletic communities across borders.
Beyond the competition, organizers prioritized international standards including facial recognition photo systems, comprehensive safety and medical plans, venue hygiene, and professional judges at every zone. The accompanying DEKA FIT Expo & Festival added a festival atmosphere for athletes, spectators, and the fitness community.
The event was organized by RUNRIO Thailand Co., Ltd. in partnership with Spartan Race Inc. and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), alongside leading sponsors. Beyond sports development, the aim was to connect the fitness industry, tourism, and service businesses, with pre-event projections estimating at least 200 million baht in economic circulation.
Building on this successful launch, RUNRIO Thailand plans to continue hosting Spartan DEKA FIT events in Bangkok annually and expand the competition network across ASEAN in 2027, positioning Thailand as a premier global destination for fitness racing and driving sustainable growth of the regional sports community.
