Bangkok Warns Residents of Rising Saen Saeb Canal Water
Bangkok has alerted residents along the Saen Saeb Canal in Nong Chok, Khlong Sam Wa, and Min Buri to watch for rising water levels after a drainage gate was opened to divert water into the canal. The change could increase water levels within the next hour, prompting officials to advise close monitoring and prompt reporting of any abnormalities. Authorities provide contact numbers and online channels for assistance and updates.
Bangkok has warned residents living along the Saen Saeb Canal in Nong Chok, Khlong Sam Wa, and Min Buri districts to closely monitor rising water levels. The Department of Royal Irrigation opened a drainage gate at the Nong Chok pumping station by 10 centimetres on October 16, 2069, to divert water from Nong Chok into the Saen Saeb Canal via the Min Buri drainage gate, which may raise water levels within the next hour. The areas under watch include the sub-districts of Nong Chok, Khlong Sam Wa, and Min Buri as listed. Officials ask residents to follow updates from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and district offices, observe water levels especially in low‑lying homes, and report any issues through the district offices, the Line @traffyfondue, phone 0 2248 5115, or the Bangkok hotline 1555, available 24 hours. The Drainage Office will continue to monitor the situation and coordinate with the Department of Royal Irrigation to manage water and minimise impacts.
