Bhumjaithai MPs Defend Party Donation, Deny Dissolution Allegations
Three Bhumjaithai Party MPs have countered former Democrat MP Sirichok Sopa's claims that a donation from MP Suchada Zang Thanthap could lead to the party's dissolution. They said the contribution comes from MPs' salaries, is voluntary, legal, and fully transparent. The MPs urged Sirichok, a former legislator, to stop spreading unfounded rumors.
On October 15, 2026, Bhumjaithai MPs Khongkrit Ramasak of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Ritthirong Phumsawat of Maha Sarakham, and Rinlita Adisa, a party-list MP, posted statements refuting Sirichok Sopa's claims. They explained that party members may donate part of their salaries received from the Secretariat of the House of Representatives to support party activities, and that such donations are lawful, voluntary, and transparent. Each MP emphasized that the donations are properly recorded, with receipts and financial reports kept in accordance with legal requirements. They noted that Sirichok, as a former MP, should be aware of these rules and accused him of either feigning ignorance or deliberately spreading misinformation. The MPs added that if any evidence of wrongdoing exists, it should be submitted to the appropriate legal authorities for investigation. Separately, Sirichok has called on the Election Commission to examine a 150,000-baht donation from Suchada Zang Thanthap to the Bhumjaithai Party, warning it could result in penalties including party dissolution.
