Bangkok has launched its bid to host WorldPride 2030, unveiling a bid book at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. Deputy Governor Poraphan Na S. Vikitset said the city is ready to become a global centre of love and equality, citing Thailand’s equal‑marriage law and various Pride initiatives. The bid pits Bangkok against Barcelona as it seeks to host the international LGBTQ+ festival in 2030.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and Bangkok Pride launched their bid book to host WorldPride 2030, proclaiming Bangkok ready to be a global hub of love and equality. On 15 October 2026 at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre in Pathum Wan, Deputy Governor Poraphan Na S. Vikitset opened the '100 Voices to Bangkok WorldPride 2030' event and the 'Bidbook Road to Bangkok WorldPride 2030' initiative, organized by Naromith Pride Co., Ltd. together with the Pride City Network from 58 Thai cities. The launch aimed to formally announce Bangkok’s candidacy for WorldPride 2030, noting Barcelona as a key rival. The event showcased over 100 voices from civil society, government, business, media, artists, and Pride networks nationwide, including influencers, voicing support for equality. Poraphan said Bangkok has collaborated with civil society and international allies to create safe spaces and become a global destination, highlighting Thailand’s recent equal‑marriage law as proof of its leadership on LGBTQ+ rights. He added that the city’s policies go beyond law, featuring annual Pride Month support, expansion of the Pride City Network, equal‑access healthcare via Pride Clinics, and safe environments for all. The bid, under the slogan 'Until All of Us Are Free,' is a strategic mission to unite global voices for equality, acceptance, and cross‑border understanding. Bangkok claims readiness in infrastructure, tourism, health care, and above all, the welcoming spirit of its residents, inviting everyone to join this historic journey to make the dream a reality and declare Bangkok ready to be the world’s centre of love, equality, and pride in 2030.
