Bournemouth Removes Alex Gimenez from Squad Over Chat Scandal Involving 15-Year-Old Girl
Bournemouth has suspended Spanish right-back Alex Gimenez from squad duties following an investigation into social media chats with a 15-year-old girl, with the club alleging grooming conduct.
English Premier League club Bournemouth has announced the removal of Spanish right-back Alex Gimenez from the squad due to an investigation into a social media chat scandal. Previously released screenshots and videos showed that Gimenez attempted to groom a 15-year-old girl. Although the girl disclosed her age in the conversations, the player continued his advances. Bournemouth's statement read: "Bournemouth is aware of the material being circulated on social media concerning Alex and is currently undertaking an investigation. As a result, Alex will not be included in the squad for the Premier League match against Fulham on May 9. The club will not be making further comment at this time." Gimenez joined Bournemouth on loan from AC Milan in September 2025 before the club decided to purchase him permanently in February, signing him through 2031.
