A car caught fire at an intersection in Udon Thani on October 6, 2024, at 4:00 PM. The driver reported hearing a sudden boom from the engine before flames erupted from the hood. He quickly got himself and his grandchild out of the vehicle. Firefighters from Udon Thani Municipality arrived and brought the blaze under control after about 20 minutes. The 75-year-old owner, Phiphat, said he had been picking up his grandchild from kindergarten when the engine stalled, then after restarting it lost power and exploded.
