Devotees gathered at Wat Pha Tung in San Kamphaeng District, Chiang Mai, on September 23 for the annual memorial observance of Luang Pu Lah Tahtip, a venerated northern Thai master. The ceremony was chaired by Khanesh Kamnan, the district officer of San Kamphaeng, and attended by Red Cross officials, police commanders, subdistrict administrators, village headmen, and many local Buddhists. The gathering honored the life and virtues of Phra Kru Chanthsamankun, commonly known as Luang Pu Lah Tahtip, while promoting Buddhist practice and preserving local traditions. The religious ceremony included the recitation of Buddhist chants by 120 invited monks, alms offerings, and distribution of educational scholarships and dry food to attendees and those in need. The event reflected the community's gratitude toward Luang Pu Lah Tahtip Chanthopassoh, a revered and respected monk who passed away on February 16, 1993, at the age of 97, having spent 33 years in lay life. According to devotional beliefs tied to the monk's life and passing, believers are encouraged to participate in the October 1 lottery draw as an act of faith.
