Chonburi Acting Coach Reveals Strong Defensive Stats Amid Foreign Interest

Chonburi FC team manager Wittaya Leohakul, serving as acting head coach of the Sharks, revealed analysis of the bottom-placed team insisting several coaches are interested in the "Sharks" after they parted ways with "Coach Ann" Rangsan Viwatchaichok following a string of losses in the new Thai League season. Wittaya was appointed interim coach.
However, Chonburi regained form with a 2-1 away win over "Dragon Kings" Ratchaburi FC and a 1-0 home victory against "The Rabbits" BG Pathum United, collecting six points from their last two matches.
The acting coach said: "Two consecutive wins, but honestly we still play below standard. I'm very lucky that a Japanese analysis team assisted; the numbers show that out of 16 teams we have the most aerial goals and rank fourth in defense, which proves we are very strong, especially in aerial duels. The difference between losing and winning lies in scoring."
"Today there are Japanese, South Korean, and Brazilian coaches showing interest due to the team's improving form. I want a new coach to arrive soon to work with the existing Chonburi staff for continuity, because my personal workload is huge."
"But I'm not closing the door on a Thai coach, because from what I've seen, Thai coaches have knowledge and ability, but the current situation at Chonburi with many foreign players is different from the past."
"We are a small club; teamwork is crucial. Individual ability might help in some games, but overall team play is the key to creating performances that bring joy to fans."
