The Department of Local Administration has clarified allegations regarding the 2023 subdistrict chief examination, asserting that the selection process followed legal procedures and that current ministry leadership is not involved. On August 21, 2025, the department issued a statement responding to complaints filed with a parliamentary committee about irregularities in the 2023 exam and concerns over answer sheets bearing incorrect year stamps.
The department stated that the examination selection process for civil servants to enroll in the subdistrict chief training programme began in February 2023 and was completed by April 2023. The selection process adhered to all procedures, standards, and methods prescribed by law. Related agencies have already conducted their investigations and notified complainants of the results.
The department firmly asserted that the examination took place entirely before the current Interior Ministry leadership assumed office. However, the department noted that if complainants believe they were treated unfairly, they may pursue remedies through legal channels as prescribed by law.
