Department Invites Public to Sponsor Kathin for 23 Royal Temples
Twenty-three royal temples throughout Thailand still lack sponsors for the royal Kathin offering in 2025. The Department of Religious Affairs is calling on the public and organizations to apply to receive the royal Kathin cloth and accessories for presentation at these temples. The Kathin festival runs from October 27 to November 24, with the royal Kathin distribution beginning on November 3.
Currently, 23 royal temples across Thailand have not yet received sponsors for the royal Kathin offering. They are: Wat Pa Saeng Aroon in Khon Kaen, Wat Nong Waeng in Khon Kaen, Wat Juthathit Thammasaram in Chon Buri, Wat Kapang Surinthara in Trang, Wat Phra Narai Maharat in Nakhon Ratchasima, Wat Saka in Nakhon Ratchasima, Wat Tha Pho in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Wat Nakhon Sawan in Nakhon Sawan, Wat Chonthara Sing in Narathiwat, Wat Seka Jetigarama in Bueng Kan, Wat Kaeo Phichit in Prachin Buri, Wat Bang Krabao in Prachin Buri, Wat Phutthaisawat in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Wat Phra Bat Ming Mueang in Phrae, Wat Mahathat in Yasothon, Wat Phra Chedi Chao Lang in Lampang, Wat Chiang I Si Mongkol Woraram in Sisaket, Wat Luang Sumangkalaram in Sisaket, Wat Pho Thammawas in Songkhla, Wat Ratsadon Sathammam in Sukhothai, Wat Trai Thammaram in Surat Thani, Wat Phisan Rajjavara in Nong Bua Lamphu, and Wat Si Sa Kaeo in Nong Bua Lamphu.
The Department of Religious Affairs invites Buddhists and organizations to express their intent to receive the royal Kathin cloth and accessories so they can be offered to monks observing the rains retreat at royal temples nationwide before the Kathin season concludes.
