Thai women's volleyball captain Pornphan Koedpradab said she invited her close friend and national teammate Pimphichaya Kohkrung to join her as a guest at a dance offering to the Naga father after qualifying for the 2028 Olympics. Pornphan and Pimphichaya, who play as back-row defenders for the national team, traveled to the Naga plaza on the Mekong River bank in Nakhon Phanom on October 4, 2026, to perform the ceremony. She explained that they usually visit to pay respects to the Naga father, but this time they made a request in July, vowing to dance if their wish was granted. After succeeding in securing their Olympic tickets, they kept that promise by performing the dance, with Pimphichaya attending as an invited guest. Pornphan admitted she had worried her friend might feel tired or uncomfortable with the event, but Pimphichaya was also surprised and enjoyed the experience, which included a trek to the Nakhee cave before returning to take part in the ritual.
