Deputy Prime Minister Yuthasak Wongseadet, who chairs the Northern Region Flood and Drought Prevention and Resolution Committee, visited Pua District in Nan Province on August 22 to oversee flood recovery and assist affected residents. He inspected the temporary steel bridge at Ban Mong, which has been completed and is now open to traffic after residents were cut off from main routes for four days. The deputy PM then traveled to monitor a second temporary bridge under construction nearby, where residents on the opposite bank have been isolated for three to four days and had been forced to use makeshift methods such as climbing logs and holding rope pulleys to cross. Installation of the second bridge is progressing well and is expected to be completed and operational by evening on August 23. The deputy PM thanked the Ministry of Transport and related agencies for their swift coordination and on-site response. He also coordinated with provincial and health ministry units to distribute relief supplies, essential goods, and medicine to affected residents.
