Thailand's Education Ministry marked Mother's Day on August 12 by distributing care packages of rice, eggs, and cooking oil to support staff including housekeepers, cleaners, and drivers as part of a morale-boosting initiative.
The Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) organized the 'Share Joy, Give Heart, Show Love' activity on August 11, 2025, in honor of Mother's Day on August 12, 2025. Education Minister Prasert Chantharwongthong presided over the event, accompanied by advisor Ploy Thanikul, ministerial secretary Wallop Rujiragul, and OBEC leadership including Secretary-General Picheth Pothibhakdi, Deputy Secretaries-General Phuthon Chantahong Punyacharusdamrong, Vishnu Treasure-Prosperity, and Pattrawarn Pattrabovrawut, along with assistant secretaries-general Arunee Jiromahasal and Atithya Panya and education ministry personnel.
Minister Prasert stated that Mother's Day is an important occasion for the education sector to make merit and dedicate it as a royal blessing for auspiciousness, and to pray that merit reaches those who have lost their lives and been affected by various incidents, with hopes such events do not recur. He thanked OBEC leadership and staff for their commitment under the 'All for Education' concept, recognizing that every person is vital to driving education forward. The ministry presented consumer goods through the Share Joy program to help ease financial burdens and bolster morale among all workers.
Secretary-General Picheth noted that Mother's Day is significant as a day of great giving. Over 400 education ministry personnel serve as essential forces implementing the minister's education policies. The minister intends to care for and encourage all staff through the Share Joy program by distributing cooking oil, rice, and chicken eggs to housekeepers, cleaning staff, security personnel, and drivers—workers vital to supporting the ministry's operations.
The 'Share Joy, Give Heart, Show Love' activity was organized to extend love, care, and goodwill on Mother's Day while boosting morale among personnel supporting the education ministry's mission.
