On October 29, 2026, the 'Phirun Center' fire unit of the Ban Chang Municipality Disaster Relief Department in Rayong Province received a report of a fire inside a luxury housing estate in Moo 5, Ban Chang Subdistrict, Ban Chang District, Rayong Province. Firefighters with equipment responded immediately, joined by Mr. Phisanu Maimaen and Mr. Kossin Limphachananan, Ban Chang Municipal executives, who monitored the situation.
At the scene, an electric motorcycle was found charging on the ground floor of the house, with flames burning intensely before spreading to a gasoline-powered motorcycle parked nearby. Firefighters urgently contained the fire to prevent it from reaching the main house, eventually bringing it under control.
Mr. Kossin revealed that the homeowner was away at work during the incident, leaving the house empty. The raging fire posed a risk of spreading to neighboring homes, but nearby residents quickly sought help and notified authorities, enabling a prompt response. Preliminary observations suggest the fire may be linked to the electric motorcycle charging, possibly due to a faulty charger or electrical system. The exact cause cannot yet be confirmed and awaits a detailed investigation by forensic police.
