The Thai Software Industry Association (ATSI) has launched the "Connecting Thai Digital Power to Drive Thai Business" project to elevate MSMEs through Open Source and Open License ERP platforms, aiming to promote and enhance the competitiveness of Thai entrepreneurs. Vethak Phuangthip, Secretary-General of the National Digital Economy and Society Committee, presided over the opening ceremony of the "Connecting Thai Digital Power to Drive Thai Business with Open Source and Open License Platforms" project organized by the Thai Software Industry Association (ATSI). Also present were Waraporn Pua-ngam, Director of the Digital Economy and Society Development Fund Management Office, Narat Saraman, President of the Thai Software Industry Association, association executives, representatives from government agencies, private sector, educational institutions, partner organizations, and entrepreneurs. The event took place on October 27, 2026, at Meeting Room 3, Miracle Grand Convention Hotel, Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, Bangkok.
The project aims to promote and enhance the competitiveness of Thai entrepreneurs, particularly small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), through the development of a central National Private Open ERP Platform. This will provide entrepreneurs access to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software in Open Source and Open License formats that can be efficiently applied to business management, reducing operational costs and lowering barriers to digital technology access.
Narat Saraman, President of the Thai Software Industry Association, stated that the project targets the promotion of 2,500 MSME entrepreneurs, 50,000 general personnel, as well as 100 software development companies, system integrators, technology consultants, and software developers. It also includes 8 educational institutions and workforce development agencies, along with 6 partner organizations, to build a robust and sustainable Thai software industry ecosystem.
Additionally, the project emphasizes building a Thai Open Source ERP developer community, providing opportunities for software developers to access source code for study, further development, and creation of innovations that meet the needs of Thai entrepreneurs. This is coupled with promoting learning through e-Learning systems, training, and creating collaborative networks between government, private sector, and educational institutions. "This project implementation represents another significant step by the Thai Software Industry Association in driving the Thai software industry to play a key role in developing the country's digital economy, aiming to create opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs to use technology to increase operational efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen long-term competitive potential," Narat said.
