Fire Destroys Documents in University Building in Bangkok
A fire destroyed documents stored on the eighth floor of a King Mongkut's University of Technology building in Bangkok on Thursday morning, with firefighters containing the blaze and no injuries reported.
A fire broke out in a document storage room on the eighth floor of a nine-storey building at King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok early on Thursday morning, causing extensive damage.
At 06:47, the emergency hotline received a report of a fire inside the university on Pracharat Sai 1 Road in Wong Sawang, Bang Sue district.
Firefighters and rescue officers from Bang Pho Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, officials found heavy smoke coming from the eighth floor of the building. Firefighters entered the building and brought the blaze under control before working to clear smoke from the seventh and eighth floors.
A preliminary inspection found that the fire had started in a document storage room, where documents and other materials were extensively damaged. No injuries or deaths were reported.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
