The Department of Special Investigation's Investigation and Intelligence Center, working with immigration police, arrested a foreign national identified as Ajeed (surname withheld) at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Samut Prakan province on July 8, 2025. The arrest was made pursuant to criminal court warrant number 2242/2569 dated April 21, 2025.

The suspect is charged with conducting an unlicensed foreign business operation, conspiring with Thai nationals to assist in circumventing business regulations, and serving as a nominee director while knowingly supporting corporate violations. He is accused of breaching the Foreign Business Act of 1999 and the Criminal Code.

According to authorities, Ajeed allegedly used Thai nominees to disguise foreign ownership of a luxury villa rental business operating in Phuket—a sector prohibited for foreign operators. The scheme was designed to evade regulatory scrutiny and has potential implications for national security and the country's economic system. The suspect was transferred to prosecutors on July 9, 2025, for further legal proceedings.

The arrest was conducted under orders from DSI Director General Yuthana Praedam and Deputy Director General Chatuphol Bongkochamasat, with the Investigation and Intelligence Center leading the operation to bring the fugitive into the justice system.

Mother Files Complaint After Teacher Beats Sixth Grader

A mother filed assault charges against a teacher at Samut Prakan after her sixth-grade son was beaten, sustaining bruises and fever, with the teacher's claim of "light tapping" rejected as unacceptable discipline.

Mother Files Complaint After Teacher Beats Sixth Grader

On July 8, 2026, Suriya Ya, 40, met with police at Samut Prakan City Station to file charges after her son, Boss, a sixth-grader, was severely beaten by a teacher, resulting in bruises and fever with no justifiable cause.

After the incident, she took her son to the hospital where doctors confirmed bruising on his elbow and left shoulder. The mother is demanding two key things: first, a clear explanation from the teacher and school about why such violence was used on a child, as the teacher claimed in a message it was only light disciplinary tapping and didn't expect the child's skin to bruise so easily—an excuse she finds unacceptable. Second, she wants concrete measures from the school and relevant agencies to address her child's physical and mental wellbeing from this violent incident, and assurance that the school will be a safe place for students.

She is pursuing charges against the teacher for assault and violations of the Child Protection Act of 2003.

Suriya Ya explained that on the day of the incident, the classroom television broke, so the teacher had students move to an upper classroom. While her son was retrieving items from the second floor, the teacher came down speaking inappropriately, scolded him for taking too long, and immediately began hitting him without cause. Other students were also struck by this teacher.

When she tried to contact the teacher through the school's group chat for his phone number, only the homeroom teacher helped. After receiving a message from the teacher claiming her son might have fragile skin that bruises easily, she rejected this excuse entirely. She emphasized that if punishment is warranted, the teacher should give a warning first, not resort to physical violence.

Her son is currently ill and running a fever. The school administration and principal have not yet contacted her—only the homeroom teacher has coordinated. She plans to invite the school and teacher to meet and clarify measures at the police station. Disciplinary action remains the school's responsibility.

Woman Reports Fake Municipal Deputy Scammed Her Of Over One Million Baht

A man impersonated a municipal deputy to scam a woman of over one million baht by promising a fake government job for her son in Kalasin Province, with police investigating similar fraud cases across the region.

Woman Reports Fake Municipal Deputy Scammed Her Of Over One Million Baht
2h ago Khaosod

A 49-year-old woman identified as Ms. A filed a report on July 8, 2025 at Chaiyawan Police Station, accusing a relative of defrauding her of over one million baht. The man, identified as Tao (pseudonym), 31, impersonated a municipal deputy and convinced her that he could secure a position for her son as a community development officer at a municipality in Tha Khantho District, Kalasin Province. Ms. A, who was working abroad at the time and had saved substantial money, transferred multiple payments to the suspect. Her son never received the job, and when she demanded a refund, Tao produced forged documents from the Ministry of Interior's Community Development Department and promised repayment—a promise he never kept.

Police Colonel Ratthapolchai Phensongkram, Chaiyawan Station Commander, revealed that Tao has a pattern of impersonating municipal deputies across multiple districts in Kalasin Province to defraud relatives into paying for fake job placements. The suspect also forged official letters bearing the signatures of high-ranking government officials. In addition to Ms. A's case, police have identified at least one other woman in Khu Khiao District who lost hundreds of thousands of baht in a similar scheme. Tao initially agreed to repay Ms. A in one case, but refused to compensate her in the son's employment fraud. Police indicated they would pursue charges of impersonating a government official and forging official documents, even if the fraud statute of limitations has expired.

Tao later contacted the station commander, admitting he impersonated a municipal deputy out of financial desperation but claiming he never intended for the situation to escalate this far. He indicated he is currently in Bangkok and will report to investigators on Monday, July 13, 2025 to be formally charged.

The operational approach was presented to the parliamentary sports committee, with Deputy Parliament Speaker Lertsakdi Patthanasakul and Sports Committee Chair Chakphan Piyaprompibuol and fellow commissioners listening and exchanging views to ensure efficient project implementation and maximum benefit for youth sports development.

The meeting included representatives from the Sports Authority of Thailand, Department of Physical Education, National University of Sports, Thai Football Association, and National Sports Development Fund. The Physical Education Department drives regional competitions and athlete data collection, the National University of Sports provides facilities and develops coaches and referees, while the Sports Authority of Thailand selects and advances athletes to professional clubs and national teams, creating a comprehensive youth football development system.

Deputy Parliament Speaker Lertsakdi Patthanasakul stated, "We must thank the National Sports Development Fund, especially its manager, for driving the Youth League competition with genuine understanding of the project's vision and goals. Emphasizing youth football development foundations is a crucial starting point that gives us hope Thai youth will receive systematic development with a pathway to the senior national team. We appreciate all agencies for dedicating time to this integrated effort toward concrete and sustainable youth football advancement."

National Sports Development Fund Manager Thanukiat Chanchoem stated, "Our fund's role in the Prime Minister Youth League is to secure budget support for all participating agencies' operations while addressing problems from past tournaments, particularly incorporating DNA testing.

An ammonia leak occurred at an ice factory in Khao Phra subdistrict, Derm Bang Nang Buat district, Suphanburi province on July 8, 2026. The facility is located near schools and communities, prompting authorities to evacuate students and residents from the risk zone. A total of 36 people were taken to hospital, including 2 teachers, 1 local official, 10 students, 10 factory workers, 3 civilians, 3 disaster relief officers, and 6 municipal staff. They experienced eye irritation, nasal irritation, and chest tightness. Two nearby schools—Derm Bang Nang Buat Kindergarten (approximately 300 meters away) and Dhammachoti Education School (approximately 1,000 meters away)—evacuated students to safety.

Investigation revealed the leak stemmed from damaged ammonia piping that was scheduled for replacement. Factory management stated they conduct regular inspections of valves and piping, with safety equipment installed throughout the system to mitigate leakage risks. Authorities from the Pollution Control Department measured ammonia concentrations in the surrounding air to assess public health impacts. The valve was successfully closed and the situation returned to normal.

Industry Minister Weerawut Silpaarcha confirmed the ammonia leaked from a 120-ton ice production machine's storage tank during valve maintenance. He stated that while 36 people required hospitalization, the situation is now controlled. An investigation is ongoing to determine if any workplace violations occurred, with potential penalties including facility closure under factory law.
