Former Ban Sang district chief Satthewut Wongleewut announced he will sue those allegedly conspiring against him after a village head accused him of mistreating local administrators, claiming he would give bananas as punishment. He defended the village head institution on Facebook and warned of legal action if the attacks continue. The controversy follows his recent transfer from Prachin Buri to Lop Buri province ordered by the Interior Ministry.
Former Ban Sang district chief Satthewut Wongleewut stated he will sue those who allegedly conspired to harm him after a village head disclosed his behavior. According to the village head, more than 300 local administrators in the area have long felt uneasy working with him, saying they would be given bananas whenever they did something he disliked. In a Facebook post addressing the issue, Satthewut said he respects and loves the institution of village heads and sub-district chiefs, and that he cares for the local administrative officers of all 88 villages in Ban Sang District. He urged everyone to uphold the institution’s dignity and value in the eyes of the public, warning not to let the legacy established by King Rama V deteriorate during their time. He added that if they continue to collaborate to harm him, he will exercise his legal rights to protect the institution, which belongs to all Thai people.
