Ping Pong Bomb Explodes in Trang Workers Home Injuring Five
A ping-pong bomb hidden in a workers' home in Trang Province exploded, injuring five people including two young children. The device had been set by the property owner to catch thieves, but the workers were not warned. Police and forensic teams responded to the scene, where they found plastic debris and bloodstains.
On 10 October 2569 BE, the explosion occurred inside a single-story concrete house in Ban Khao Plu, Bang Sak Subdistrict, Kantang District, Trang Province. Plastic fragments were scattered inside and bloodstains were seen at the front. The five injured—a 44-year-old man, a 34-year-old woman, a 13-year-old girl, a four-year-old boy, and a two-year-old boy—had already been taken to hospital. Village Head Wachai Ketthongdee said the house had recently been occupied by five rubber tappers, a couple and their three children, who moved a cardboard box believed to contain the bomb while cleaning, triggering the blast. The owner had placed the bomb to deter thieves after previous break-ins but had not informed the hired workers.
