Privy Councilor delivers royal relief packages to flood victims in Lum Luk Ka district, Pathum Thani province, to ease suffering and boost morale. On October 9, 2026, King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida authorized Privy Councilor General Prayut Chan-o-cha, together with the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation, to distribute 1,000 royal relief bags to flood-affected residents of Pathum Thani. Pathum Thani Governor Thaniya Nai-pinit received the packages at the Khu Khot municipal hall auditorium. The Privy Councilor then received a briefing on the flood situation before personally delivering aid to three households in Lum Luk Ka, including two elderly women - Tiparat Wongphakdi, 85, and Boontham Chomphunut, 102 - and a 70-year-old man, Sombun Sopha-sri. The flood situation in Pathum Thani stems from both natural factors and water management, including upstream water levels, backflow, and heavy rainfall accumulated from September 25-27. The province identified two main causes: releases from the Chao Phraya Dam affecting riverside areas in Mueang Pathum Thani (14 sub-districts), Samkoet (11 sub-districts) and Lad Lum Kaew (7 sub-districts); and heavy rain affecting Thanyaburi (6 sub-districts), Lum Luk Ka (8 sub-districts), Khlong Luang (7 sub-districts) and Nong Suea (7 sub-districts). In total, seven districts, 60 sub-districts, 507 villages and 167 communities were impacted, affecting 246,818 households. The Khu Khot sub-district in Lum Luk Ka alone saw 18 villages, 63,693 households and 110,914 people affected, leading the province to declare the area a disaster zone for flooding.
