Tragic accident! A van rear-ended a motorcycle sidecar, killing a young man from Phetchaburi on the road and seriously injuring a woman. CCTV captured the collision clearly. At 5:10 p.m. on October 9, 2026, Police Lieutenant (female) Pacharawan Rit-rai, Deputy Inspector (Investigations) of Mueang Phetchaburi Police Station, was notified of an accident involving a non-regular hired van colliding with a motorcycle sidecar on Phetkasem Road, inbound to Bangkok, in front of Muang Thai Life Insurance Company, Moo 1, Rai Som Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phetchaburi Province. The crash resulted in one death and serious injuries. Police rushed to the scene, coordinating with rescue and medical units. At the scene, the body of Nathaporn Jeemjan, 30, wearing a long-sleeved black shirt and short denim jeans, was found lying in a pool of blood on the road, with abrasions across the body. About 20 meters away, Ms. Ploy, 29, was found injured with heavy bleeding from the head and face. Medical staff from Mahachai Phetcharat Hospital provided first aid before transferring her to Phetchaburi Provincial Hospital. The motorcycle sidecar belonging to the deceased was found with Bangkok license plates, damaged and scattered over 30 meters from the impact point. The van, a silver-colored hired vehicle with Bangkok license plates, was parked on the roadside, its front windshield shattered and body dented from the force of the collision. The driver was identified as Chaiyarit. Preliminary investigation indicates that Chaiyarit was driving the van with passengers from Prachuap Khiri Khan Province toward Bangkok when he approached the scene. The motorcycle sidecar ahead suddenly swerved out to cut across his path, leaving him unable to brake in time, causing the van to strike the rear of the sidecar. The CCTV footage clearly shows the incident. Additionally, at the accident site a second collision occurred when a woman on a motorcycle rear-ended a rescue volunteer vehicle that was parked to assist the injured. Police are continuing to examine the CCTV footage in detail and will interview witnesses to determine the exact cause.
