Pickup Truck Hits Motorcycle; Woman Dies, Relatives Attack Driver

At 6:10 a.m. on September 5, 2025, Bang Bua Thong Police Station officers and staff from Poh Teck Tung Foundation responded to reports of a pickup truck collision with a motorcycle that resulted in injuries and a fatality at the intersection near Bua Thong Kehha housing estate on Bangkrua-Sai Noi Road, Bang Bua Thong District, Nonthaburi Province. An on-call medical examiner from the Institute of Forensic Medicine was also notified to examine the scene.

At the three-way intersection near the housing estate entrance, officers found a blue Nissan pickup truck with Bangkok registration plates. The vehicle's right bumper was destroyed, the windshield was shattered, and the truck was overturned. An elderly passenger traveling in the truck, identified as Rampung, 68, suffered injuries and was transported by rescue workers to Bang Bua Thong Hospital. Near the truck, approximately 20 meters away, the body of Wannipha (surname withheld), 53, a motorcycle taxi driver who operated near Euoathorn Bang Bua Thong housing estate 2, was found. A damaged Honda Wave motorcycle was also discovered at the scene.

While authorities waited to process the scene, relatives of the deceased became agitated, leading to a heated altercation between them and the pickup truck driver. Police and relatives had to intervene to prevent further confrontation.

The pickup truck driver stated he had been driving his mother to Sai Noi District when he received a green traffic signal. However, the motorcycle suddenly cut in front of him at close range, preventing him from braking in time and causing the collision. The truck subsequently lost control and overturned.

Police said they had documented the scene and taken a statement from the truck driver. Authorities plan to review security camera footage from the accident location to determine the facts of the case. As the deceased was Muslim, her body was released to relatives to proceed with religious rites.
