Intelligence indicated on July 15 that the fugitive was hiding at a friend's fruit orchard in Chiang Mai. Police obtained a search warrant (no. 379/2569) from Chiang Mai Provincial Court on July 15 and conducted the raid the following morning. Officers surrounded the property, and when the suspect spotted police, he attempted to flee but was cornered and arrested. The homeowner cooperated and confirmed the suspect had been staying there. Police searched the premises but found no other contraband. The suspect confessed to his identity and was transferred to Mae Fak Police Station in Chiang Mai for further processing.

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul left Thailand on Thursday to seek investment from major artificial intelligence and technology companies, with plans to discuss trade, investment, security, and transnational crime during his China visit from July 16–20.

Anutin, who also serves as interior minister, will attend the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai and open a new Board of Investment office in Chengdu. Anutin described the meeting with Xi as an opportunity to follow up on discussions held over the past year, including those during the King's visit to China. "China is a great friend that has always supported Thailand, whether we ask or not," Anutin said, adding that cooperation between the two nations continues to advance.

Six young men who escaped from the Nakhon Ratchasima Youth Development and Protection Center stole a school pickup truck and fled to Chaiyaphum province on July 16, 2025. The group broke out of their detention facility at 5:30 a.m. by cutting through window bars during the early morning darkness, then stole an Isuzu pickup belonging to Ratchasima College around 7:00 a.m. from a location about 800 meters away. Police from multiple jurisdictions coordinated search efforts and roadblocks, eventually locating the abandoned truck in Noen Song District, Chaiyaphum.
