Deputy Government Spokesperson Ploy Thalee Laksameesangchan announced on August 8 that the government is deeply concerned about those affected by the shooting at Thepsirin School in Nonthaburi Province and extends sincere condolences to the families of the deceased. The government is coordinating with all sectors to provide ongoing support and appropriate psychological rehabilitation to those impacted. The Mental Health Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (MCATT) has been deployed to provide emergency psychological first aid and develop short-term, medium-term, and long-term mental health recovery plans covering the injured, families, students, teachers, educational staff, and affected members of the public. The spokesman urged the public to follow information from reliable government sources and official news channels, and to refrain from sharing violent images, clips, or content that unnecessarily depicts the perpetrator or methods of the attack, as this can negatively affect children and youth. Parents and teachers are asked to monitor children closely, limit exposure to violent media, allow children to express their feelings in a supportive manner without pressing for details or repeated accounts, and watch for signs of emotional distress. Mental health support for children and families is available 24/7 at 1415, and mental health crisis counseling is available at 1323 around the clock.
