Government Minister Praises Krathumthong Party Budget Vote

At Government House on 22 September, Deputy Interior Minister and Nakhon Ratchasima MP Palpeer Suwannachuay commented on the Krathumthong Party's decision to leave the opposition caucus and vote for the 2570 fiscal year budget bill. He said this demonstrates that the party prioritizes the people, as the budget will support economic stimulus and public assistance for national development.

Palpeer stated that he personally believes Krathumthong's actions are correct, as long as they are motivated by concern for the nation and its citizens rather than factional politics. He declined to say whether the opposition pushed Krathumthong toward the government, noting that such matters are not discussed within his party, Palang Pracharath. He thanked Krathumthong for voting with the government and affirmed that supporting the country and its people is always the right course, regardless of whether a party is in government or opposition.

When asked about the possibility of Krathumthong joining a cabinet reshuffle, Palpeer said he had no information, as such decisions are entirely the Prime Minister's prerogative. He expressed confidence that all current cabinet members are settled in their posts and working effectively, noting that many are new to their roles but have already begun delivering results. He rejected the notion that this constitutes a test only of "young ministers" from Palang Pracharath, pointing out that capable officials serve across all coalition parties, including Pheu Thai MPs who hold senior positions despite shorter parliamentary tenure. "If this is what it means to be a young minister, then so be it," he concluded.
