Government Mobilizes Resources to Combat Nationwide Flooding

Natural Resources and Environment Minister Suchat Chomklin revealed that following Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul's policy prioritizing care and assistance for flood victims, the government has ordered the Permanent Secretary of the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry to coordinate all department units across central, eastern, and all regions nationwide. These efforts will integrate with provincial and local government organizations to accelerate relief for flood and flash-flood victims at full capacity.

Suchat stated that he has instructed the permanent secretary to closely monitor the situation and direct field units to support provincial governors with full capability to resolve problems and alleviate public suffering. The department will deploy personnel, pumping equipment, machinery, and various tools to affected areas as quickly as possible.

"I request all Department of Natural Resources and Environment units in the field to work proactively, coordinate closely with provinces and municipalities, and immediately mobilize available personnel and equipment to help people. In flood situations, every minute counts, and public distress must be addressed urgently," Suchat said.

Suchat also instructed the permanent secretary to coordinate with department units to consider opening facilities as temporary shelters for disaster victims and as parking areas to minimize damage and provide convenience to residents in at-risk areas.

Suchat emphasized that the department stands ready to support provinces and local organizations at full strength, with all units closely monitoring the situation and prepared with personnel, machinery, and equipment to assist people immediately, ensuring rapid, comprehensive, and inclusive relief for all affected communities.
