Government Mobilizes Flood Response Across All Ministries

Deputy Prime Minister Supachee Paibulsutha revealed multi-ministry flood response operations on September 26, 2025, covering water drainage, transportation, shelter centers, vulnerable group support, and goods shortage prevention.
The Ministry of Interior instructed all districts to maintain round-the-clock monitoring and alerts, while mobilizing administrative and civil defense units to evacuate residents and establish shelter centers. Provincial waterworks ordered all 234 branches to prepare staff and equipment to maintain continuous water supply and rapidly repair any system damage.
Ayutthaya province declared five districts as disaster areas to accelerate public assistance. The Ministry of Agriculture deployed the Irrigation Department to manage water drainage through the Chao Phraya Dam, distribute water across irrigation systems, and rapidly drain floodwaters into the Gulf of Thailand via the Khlong Lat Phot drainage gate, with machinery standing by to assist flooded areas.
The Ministry of Natural Resources installed pumping stations in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Singburi, and Saraburi provinces to drain floodwaters. Local agencies were ordered to mobilize staff, machinery, and pumps to support affected provinces and prepare agency facilities as shelter centers and parking areas.
The Ministry of Defence mobilized approximately 10,000 troops and over 1,000 vehicles nationwide to assist disaster-affected areas, including transporting stranded residents from Pak Kret and preparing recovery operations for after water levels recede.
The Ministry of Transport's Rural Road Department surveyed 24 damaged road routes across six provinces, with five routes impassable; warning signs and detour signs were installed. The Expressway Authority maintained 24-hour surveillance and reported flooded sections at expressway access points. The Aeronautical Department monitored weather conditions and coordinated with airlines to notify passengers; airports under its jurisdiction remained open for normal service.
The Ministry of Social Development prepared evacuation of vulnerable groups and established shelter centers using MSO Logbook data to identify those needing assistance. The Citizen Welfare Acceleration Center received assistance requests via the 1300 hotline around the clock.
The Ministry of Public Health ordered hospitals to survey at-risk areas and prepare medicines, medical supplies, and equipment for continuous medical services, while informing the public of service channels.
The Ministry of Education was authorized to adjust learning formats, suspend classes according to risk levels, and provide flexible attendance, assignment submission, and evaluation deadlines. The Office of the Basic Education Commission allocated repair funds of 350,000 baht per educational area for affected schools. The Teachers Council arranged makeup exams for affected test-takers at three exam centers, while vocational schools prepared technician teams to inspect and repair homes, electrical appliances, and vehicles after water recedes.
The Ministry of Labour's Skill Development Department opened vehicle damage inspection points in six provinces with technician teams ready to repair electrical systems, appliances, and vehicles. The Social Security Office prepared plans to relocate or reschedule Social Security Board elections in at-risk areas according to conditions.
The Ministry of Commerce's provincial commerce offices tracked essential goods quantity and prices, coordinating with businesses to restock and deliver goods to disaster areas. The Internal Trade Department received complaints of goods shortages, unfair pricing, and hoarding via the 1569 hotline.
The Ministry of Industry instructed provincial industrial offices to provide support.
