On September 26, 2569, Democrat Party spokesperson Sirippa Intravichiear announced that flooding from successive heavy rains has affected many areas. Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva has instructed party MPs to monitor the situation and coordinate relief efforts across affected regions, using the party's provincial coordination centers to liaise with relevant agencies and distribute food and essentials.
In Bangkok specifically, both Bangkok Metropolitan Council members and party list MPs have been tasked with monitoring problems and receiving complaints from residents to help address the crisis. The party is operating a coordination center through its Blue House headquarters and preparing community kitchens to distribute meals in affected neighborhoods.
Spokesperson Sirippa emphasized that while the flooding stems from heavy rainfall, the government must improve its crisis management and communication systems. She noted that waiting for the rain to stop is not a solution, and called on the government to integrate all sectors in supporting Bangkok's recovery, particularly improving public transportation, as residents are suffering severely and solutions are within the government's power.
