PM Presides Over Robe Offering to Raise Funds for Ranong Hospital Medical Equipment
Prime Minister Anutthin Charnvirakul presided over a Buddhist robe-offering ceremony that raised funds for medical equipment at Ranong Hospital, targeting 20 million baht to strengthen healthcare services in the remote southern province.
Prime Minister Anutthin Charnvirakul and Interior Minister recently presided over a Buddhist robe-offering ceremony to raise funds for purchasing medical equipment at Ranong Hospital. The event was attended by over 1,000 government officials, state enterprise employees, and network partners from Ranong, Phang Nga, Surat Thani, and other southern provinces. Senior monks including the Ranong Provincial Buddhist Chief and abbots from major temples led the ceremony, which involved ritual offerings and blessings.
The Prime Minister stated that the medical equipment acquired through this collective effort will benefit local residents and their families, noting that Ranong's distance from other major hospitals—approximately 2 hours from Chumphon and 3 hours from Surat Thani—makes it critical to strengthen the hospital's capacity. He emphasized that upgrading Ranong Hospital with quality medical equipment is essential for the province's development and will enable faster, safer healthcare services for residents and neighboring provinces.
The ceremony aimed to mobilize funds from donors, private sector partners, and organizations to purchase necessary medical equipment and enhance the hospital's service capacity. The total contribution target for the robe offering was set at 20 million baht, with proceeds dedicated to improving medical services and ensuring residents can access quality, timely, and safe healthcare.
