Government Savings Bank Launches 2 Billion Baht SME Liquidity Program
The Government Savings Bank launched a 2 billion baht liquidity support program for SMEs facing working capital shortages, offering loans up to 100% of collateral value with repayment terms up to 10 years.
The Government Savings Bank has launched a new credit program called "GSB Cash Boost Liquidity Support" with a total fund allocation of 2 billion baht to help SMEs manage liquidity challenges and access working capital. GSB Director Thongpol Cheewapaññaaroaj stated that economic headwinds and regional tensions affecting energy prices and business costs have forced many SMEs to face liquidity shortages and limited access to capital. The bank is responding to Bank of Thailand policy directives by introducing this new credit facility to support existing business borrowers with working capital for operational expenses over a maximum 12-month period, repayable over up to 10 years, with loan amounts reaching up to 100 percent of collateral valuation.
The credit facility aims to inject fresh capital and provide adequate liquidity for businesses to maintain operations, cover essential expenses, and preserve employment during economic uncertainty. Eligible SME borrowers must be existing GSB business credit customers for at least one year with a good account status as of March 31, 2025, no arrears exceeding 90 days, and no debt restructuring history in the past year. Funds can be used for working capital, operational expenses, asset investment, mortgage refinancing from other institutions, or mortgage repayment. Both short-term (annual review) and long-term options (up to 10 years, including a grace period of up to one year) are available, with interest rates following GSB's standard business and SME lending criteria. Eligible customers can apply from now through December 30, 2025, at any GSB branch nationwide, or contact the GSB Contact Center at 1115 or visit www.gsb.or.th for more details.
