Gunmen Kill One Volunteer, Injure Another in Pattani

At 1:30 p.m. on October 16, 2024, unknown gunmen opened fire on members of the Mai Kaen Territorial Defence Unit while they were travelling by motorcycle to perform prayers in Pattani’s Mai Kaen district. One volunteer, Ruslee Uma, was killed and another was wounded. The injured and the body of the deceased were rushed to Mai Kaen Hospital. Security forces from three agencies have cordoned off the scene and are gathering evidence to identify and arrest the attackers.
