Heavy rainfall that began around 8 p.m. on September 24 caused severe flooding across Satahip subdistrict in Chachoengsao province, affecting major roads including Sukhumvit Road and low-lying residential areas. Traffic congestion occurred as some vehicles were unable to cross the floodwaters and stalled, forcing other motorists to seek alternate routes.
Nattavut Anuyota, the district chief of Satahip, and Vasorn Siangchi, the mayor of Satahip, led administrative staff, disaster prevention officers, rescue workers, and highway department personnel to monitor conditions and assist residents with traffic management in the affected zones. Floodwaters were particularly severe along a one-kilometer stretch of Sukhumvit Road from Satahip Junction to the one-kilometer marker, requiring cautious driving conditions.
Official monitoring continues as authorities track water levels. Preliminary forecasts suggest that if rainfall decreases within the next hour, water levels should gradually recede to normal conditions.
