The Thai Meteorological Department on September 28 forecasts heavy to very heavy rain across western and lower northern regions, western central areas, and the east for the next 24 hours. Other regions will see reduced rainfall but localized heavy showers remain possible. Residents in the north, central, and eastern zones should watch for dangers from heavy accumulated rainfall that may trigger flash floods, overflowing waterways, landslides, and forest runoff, especially near slopes and low-lying areas. Travel through repeatedly flooded routes, particularly in depression zones prone to short-term water accumulation, should be avoided.
A low-pressure system has moved into the Matabhan Gulf, while the southwest monsoon continues to blow strongly over the Andaman Sea, southern region, and Gulf of Thailand. Waves in the upper Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand are moderately strong, reaching 2-3 meters, with heights exceeding 3 meters in thunderstorm areas. Fishing vessels are urged to navigate carefully and avoid thunderstorm zones. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and upper Gulf should remain ashore until September 28.
