Water levels at Khaeng Krachan Dam in Phetchaburi province have surged to 95.57% of capacity, prompting officials to inspect conditions along the Phetchaburi River. On September 28, Phetchaburi Governor Phopchonok Chalaanukhrao, along with provincial water and irrigation officials, visited the dam to assess water volume after receiving flood alerts. Five districts—Khaeng Krachan, Tha Yang, Ban Lat, Mueang Phetchaburi, and Ban Laem—have been ordered to monitor water levels closely in vulnerable and low-lying areas along the river. The dam currently holds 678.564 million cubic meters of water, classified as a critical level. Officials urged the public to follow government updates and remain calm.
At Phet Dam in Tha Yang district, authorities are releasing water at 100 cubic meters per second into the Phetchaburi River and through Canal Line 3, which directs flow to Canal D9 and eventually to the sea. The situation remains under close watch. A survey of water levels in Mueang Phetchaburi district found that water remains 2 to 3 meters below riverbanks.
