Heavy Rainfall Warning for Multiple Thai Provinces Through July 30
Thailand's Meteorological Department warns of heavy to very heavy rainfall across multiple regions through July 30, with flash flooding risks in foothill and low-lying areas as a monsoon trough intensifies over the country.
The Thai Meteorological Department issued its fifth alert on July 25, 2025, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall across Thailand from July 26–30. Affected regions include the Northeast, Central, East, and Western South regions due to a monsoon trough passing through the North and upper Northeast, combined with an intensifying Southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. Residents are urged to prepare for flash flooding and flash floods, especially in foothill and low-lying areas. Waves in the upper Andaman Sea are expected to reach 2–3 meters (exceeding 3 meters during thunderstorms), while the upper Gulf of Thailand and lower Andaman Sea will see waves around 2 meters (exceeding 2 meters during storms). Fishermen are advised to exercise caution and avoid thunderstorm areas; small boats in the upper Andaman should remain ashore during this period. Typhoon Noel, located in southern China, is forecast to make landfall in Guangdong Province on July 26 and will not affect Thailand. The next alert will be issued on July 26 at 5:00 a.m. Provinces expecting very heavy rain include Ranong (July 26), Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, and Nakhon Phanom (July 27–28), and Chaiyaphum (July 28). Additional heavy rain is forecast for provinces across all regions through July 30.
