Hospital Launches Organ Donation Campaign to Save Lives

Thammasat University Hospital, partnering with the Thai Red Cross Organ Donation Center, organized the "Inspire Giving, Ignite Miracles" campaign to raise awareness and understanding of the importance of organ and eye donation and to invite the public to register as donors. The event, held on September 14, 2025, at OR Space of Thammasat University Hospital, was presided over by Dr. Dilek Phiyothai, hospital director, with support from specialist transplant surgeons who shared knowledge about medical advances and treatment outcomes that improve quality of life for transplant recipients. The program included inspirational discussions featuring donor representatives Trai Samutr and E Chirakorn, who shared their experiences about the value of giving and passing hope to others. E Chirakorn also performed a mini-concert to close the event. During the campaign, participants who registered as organ and eye donors received commemorative gifts from POP MART and other sponsors, while donations also went toward a fund to assist transplant patients. Hospital director Dr. Dilek Phiyothai noted that August 13 is World Organ Donation Day, aimed at raising awareness of the critical importance of organ donation. Organ and eye donation represents one of the most valuable and noble forms of giving, extending lives, creating opportunities, and restoring quality of life for countless patients awaiting treatment.
