Thailand Hosts Two Major Volleyball Leagues to Develop Young Talent

Thailand's volleyball association is organizing two major competitions—the Domestic Power Volleyball Academy League 2025 and the Professional Challenge League 2026—to develop young athletes for the national team. The announcement was made on September 16 at Thailand Sports Authority headquarters, with the domestic league for men and women scheduled for September 20–29, 2025, at a 4,000-seat gymnasium in Nakhon Pathom Province's municipal sports facility. The professional Challenge League will run October 19–25, 2025, at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. Nathapong Kesapun, secretary-general of the Thai Volleyball Association, stated that the association's mandate is to develop volleyball at all levels—athletes, referees, and coaches—to international standards. He emphasized that competitions at various levels serve as important development tools, with the two leagues providing a foundation for young club athletes to showcase their abilities, advance to the Thailand Volleyball League, and help the association identify talent for the national team. Supoj Toompraja, secretary of Nakhon Pathom's sports association, expressed pride in hosting the academy league and confirmed that the province has prepared facilities and staff according to international standards. Surachai Sathitakorn, general manager of Mikasa Thailand, noted that the company is honored to sponsor both leagues, continuing its multi-year support for developing professional volleyball pathways and advancing Thai volleyball overall.
