Thai Sang Thai Urges Bangkok Plan Review Over Flood Risks

The Thai Sang Thai Party has formally objected to Bangkok's new Comprehensive Plan (4th revision), warning that removing flood retention areas (monkey cheeks) and shrinking floodways will permanently increase flood risk for the capital. The complaint, filed by former leader Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan, cites proven success of King Rama IX's monkey cheek projects and argues that giant tunnels cannot function without upstream water storage. The party demands the Governor preserve at least 6 million cubic meters of retention capacity and protect floodways on both riverbanks.
