Industry Secretary Deflects on Energy Ministry Transfer Rumors

Nattapol Rangsitpol, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, deflected questions about reports he would be transferred to lead the Ministry of Energy. On August 10, 2025, rumors circulated that the cabinet would approve his appointment as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy on August 11, replacing current Permanent Secretary Prasert Sinsukprasert, who retires September 30. When asked about the proposed transfer, Nattapol responded "let's wait and see." When pressed on whether senior officials had approached him about the move, he declined to comment, saying such matters are decisions made by senior leadership. Pressed further on whether he had been previously consulted about a cross-ministry transfer, Nattapol said he was unaware, reiterating that these are matters for senior officials to decide.
