Industry Ministry Plans Transfer of Permanent Secretary

On September 8, 2026 at parliament, Industry Minister Verawut Silpaarcha discussed the planned reshuffle of permanent secretary level positions ahead of a cabinet meeting. He stated that no formal appointment announcement would be made today, as the transfer of the current permanent secretary, Natthapol Rangsitpol, must be completed first. When asked where the transfer would take effect, Verawut said cabinet approval was still pending, with details to follow once a formal resolution is reached. He confirmed the outgoing permanent secretary will move to the Prime Minister's Office. Regarding the appointment of a new permanent secretary, Verawut noted that a royal decree must first be issued and published in the Royal Gazette before the ministry can formally appoint a replacement. He confirmed meeting with the Prime Minister on September 7 to discuss the reshuffle, and that the Premier has acknowledged the proposal. Reports indicate Verawut is proposing the cabinet approve the transfer of Natthapol to the position of Level C-11 staff member attached to the Prime Minister's Office.
