The Gold Merchants Association announced that gold prices surged again on September 8, 2026. Ornamental gold (96.5% purity) is now selling at 69,700 baht per gram, marking an increase of 350 baht compared to September 7. According to the latest data from the Gold Merchants Association released at 09:01 a.m., gold bars are being purchased domestically at 68,700 baht per gram and sold at 68,900 baht per gram under the first announcement. Ornamental gold (96.5% purity) is being bought at 67,325.56 baht per gram and sold at 69,700 baht per gram. Global gold spot prices stand at 4,438.00 US dollars per ounce. Gold traders predict the market may open tomorrow with prices surging 1,000–2,000 baht per gram, potentially breaking through the 80,000-baht barrier.
